On March 8th, 1965, the US 9th Marine Brigade landed on Nam O Beach (nicknamed Red Beach II) in Danang, which officially marked the American involvement in Vietnam. Thenceforth, the names "I Corps Area", "Ashau Valley", "Hamburger Hill", or "My Lai massacre" have never faded in the memory of American soldiers. Coming back there nowadays, you can spend quiet moments on Non Nuoc Beach, once a popular R&R site Of American servicemen, or simply enjoy the serenity of the ancient town of Hoi An, leaving behind all rueful remembrances of a distant past.

 

Day 1: Arrive Ha Noi (D)

Meet guide & driver at the airport. Transfer to Ha Noi. Check in hotel. Free time.

 

Day 2: Hanoi - Da Nang - Quang Ngai (B,D)

Transfer to airport for flight to Da Nang. Meet guide & driver at airport, then transfer to Quang Ngai. On the way stopping some points in Tam Ky for seeing provincial capital grounds and buildings. Arrive Quang Ngai. Check in hotel. Free time.

 

Day 3: Quang Ngai - Cu Lao Re (B,D)

Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to ferry landing for Cu Lao Re island, depart at 8h00. Arrive the island around 10h00. Receptionist welcome group at the station. Check in My Linh guest house. Free time, guide avaiable until 5pm in battle field. Lunch & dinner at the guest house.

 

Day 4: Cu Lao Re - Hoi An (B,D)

Local breakfast at Guest house. Return from the island at 8h00. Driver picks group back from the boat. Transfer to Hoi An ancient city though Chu Lai & Ky Ha, stop some places for remembering & pictures of Ky Ha (no picture in front of Chu Lai gate)- (optional: Cam Doi base, Nui Que base, An Hoa base, My Lai village). Check in hotel. Overnight in Hoi An.

 

Day 5: Hoi An - Da Nang (B,D)

Breakfast at hotel. Free time at beach or walking tour by your self to explore the ancient town which has over 800-structures of historical interest including a Japanese covered bridge, ancient Chinese merchant houses and Chinese temples from the various parts of China. Visit some battle field in Hoi An (no picture here). Transfer to Da Nang. Overnight in Da Nang.

 

Day 6: Da Nang - departure (B)       

Breakfast at hotel. Visit the area where 1st Marine Division Head quarteras was lacated in 1970-71. Check out at 12.30. Transfer to airport for other route.
