Lang Co is famous for its magnificent natural landscapes surrounded by mountains and the boundless blue sea with waves coming to the immaculate and fine sand where Khai Dinh King was inspired to write the epitaph “Royal step-over temple” and issued the decree to order the Ministry of Public Works to build a summer palace for recreation. It is just 35 km from Danang International Airport and 60 km from Phu Bai - Hue Airport. It is on National route 1A with a railway crossing, 2 km from Hai Van Tunnel
The travelers easily agreed with the media that the name Lang Co derives from Lang Cô (A Miss’ Tomb) or Làng Cò (Village of storks). Lang Co still has the ruined complex that the Nguyen Dynasty has built for their kings to enjoy the scenic landscape. Also we could find some trace of the French here and there, including in the modern history. So the best interpretation is L’An cu, as the French called its original name An Cu (Living Peacefully)..
