Hoa Lu was the capital of Vietnam under the Dinh and Le Dynasties. Hoa Lu is an old imperial city near Hoa Binh. It is also know as "the Dry Halong Bay" because of the
many limestone formations that dot the area. The huge rock edifices jut out of paddy fields and canals providing a unusual and dramatic landscape. Small boats carry travellers along the canals and stop at some of the impressive peaks. It is a relaxed and romantic setting.
Kenh Ga ( Chicken cannal) followed by the 17th century royal temples at Hoa Lu, the "birthplace" of the Vietnamese nation. This was our first encounter with the incredibly active Vietnamese river life.
Itinerary:
08.00 am: We start the trip to Hoa Lu, Kenh Ga.
Our first destination today is Hoa Lu where we will visit the temples of Dinh and Le Dynasties which existed in the 10th century. It is also famous for towering limestone cliffs and green paddy fields. For Vietnamese people, Hoa Lu like Halong Bay on land with wonderful rice fields instead of the emerald water in Halong.
Further to the breath-taking scenery of Hoa Lu, we continue the trip on boat on Hoang Long river to reach to Kenh Ga floating village. On boat through verdant paddy fields, limestone formations to see rural and river life of the local people here.
Trip concluded in Hanoi at 05.00 p.m
