Sapa Mountains to Valleys 8 days - V8-14
Route: Hanoi - Lao Cai - Sapa - Ylinh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van - Giang Ta Chai - Seo Trung Ho- Nam Toong - Thanh Phu - Nam Sai - Nam Ken - Ban Ho - Sapa -Hanoi.
Day 1: Hanoi Today, you will take the night train to Sapa. The local train departs Hanoi at 22.00 pm. Overnight on board.
Day 2: Lao Cai - Sapa (B) Upon arrival at Lao Cai station, you will be pick up and transfer to Sapa. Sapa is 33 km far from Lao Cai, and situated at an altitude of 1,600 meters. Driving to the zik zac route around the moutains take you the stunning scenery with the moutains, stair paddle-fields. We will check in the hotel and have refresh after the night on train. The tour today will start at 13.00 pm after your lunch. We will walk to Cat cat village, to meet the local ethnic minorities on the way to and from Sapa for the market. If it?s possible, we will visit a house of H?mong people, sharing experiences and witness the lives and cultures of this local people. Overnight at the hotel
Day 3: Sapa - Ylinh Ho - Lao Chai - Ta Van. (Trekking distance: 15 km) (B,L, D) Begin trekking at 10am down the valley to the Muong Hoa River and from here to the Black H?mong village Lao Chai San, Lao Chai. Black H?mong is one of the biggest minority groups in the Sapa area. We continue to Ta Van village (1.200m) to visit Zay people. Zay is a fairly small minority group of about 38.000 people who live mainly in the mountains in Northwest Vietnam. The Zay houses are build in wood and bamboo with clay floor. We stay overnight with a local family in Ta Van. Accommodation is basic but a unique and special experience.
Day 4: Ta Van- Giang Ta Chai - Seo Trung Ho. (Trekking distance: 15 km) (B,L, D) After the breakfast we continue to the Red Dao people at Giang Ta Chai where we also see a waterfall. The Red Dao women have very colourful red embroideries and coins on their clothing. On their head they wear a red scarf. Overnight in the Seo Trung Ho village of Red.
Day 5: Seo Trung Ho - Nam Toong - Thanh Phu (Trekking distance: 20 km) (B,L, D) Continue along small paths in the rice fields, cross the Muong Hoa River and arrive at the Tay village THANH PHU. Tay is the most populated of the hill tribes and due to the fast development some of them have started wearing Vietnamese clothing. But most women still wear the traditional checkered headscarf. We stay overnight in a wooden Tay stilt house.
Day 6: Thanh Phu - Nam Sai - Nam Ken - Ban Ho (Trekking distance: 20 km) (B,L, D) After breakfast we hike to Nam Sai Village to visit the Tay People, and then trek up to the Red Dzao Village the village of Xa Pho tribe - the smallest group in Sapa who have very little contact with modern Vietnam. Overnight in Ban Ho Village.
Day 7: Ban Ho - Sapa. (Trekking distance: 6 km) (B,) After breakfast we trek to Ban Den place. From here we are collected by our vehicle and transferred back to Sapa. In the afternoon you will have time to experience the colourful Sapa before driving to Lao Cai for the overnoight train.
Day 8: Sapa - Hanoi Upon arrival at Hanoi Station you will be transferred back to your hotel.
